6 Foods Scientifically Proven to Give You GLOWING Skin

Entering into the New Year we are making waves for New and exciting events to happen. Most New Years I am looking forward to being more active, having more balance, and eating cleaner. And as we know beauty starts from within.

Every year it feels like there are more and more ways to incorporate healthy eating habits and in return find ways to achieve a healthier more vibrant lifestyle. Incorporating specific foods into your palate allows your body and skin to feel and look amazing. After speaking with our community nutritionist expert we are able to identify 10 foods to help promote clear and healthy skin.

1. Berries

Berries are known to be filled with a ton of antioxidants that are extremely beneficial for the skin. These antioxidants have beneficial effects such as being anti-inflammatory and helping with free radicals (the molecules that cause damage to the skin cells). Blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, goji berries, and even the infamous Acai Berry (that we also carry as an amazing moisturizer) are great examples of berries that are good for you inside and out.

2. Eggs

Eggs are a little skin secret that helps to keep the skin hydrated, and firm, and repair the skin with Vitamin A.

3. Cucumbers

Cucumbers are great for the skin because they are high in moisture. Because cucumbers hold a ton of water they are able to hydrate the skin and soothe it from any irritation. Do you know why cucumbers were used on top of the eyes? Because they help with puffiness and swelling. I throw a couple in my Sophisticated Bling Starbucks cup with some water, it tastes so good!

4. Green Tea

Green tea is a power punch of so many different things such as feeling good on the skin and tasting delicious in a drink. However, for the skin, green tea has many antioxidants and acts as a toner, sunscreen, exfoliant, and moisturizer. Because it contains vitamin E- it can nourish the skin, brighten, and repair it.

5. Fish

I was never a seafood lover until 2022-and once I knew the benefits of specific fishes I was hooked (no pun intended) Fatty fish have vitamin E, zinc, and omega-3’s (fatty acids) that help soothe irritated skin, even skin complexion, and seal in moisture.

6. Avocado

Last but not least- Avocado is one of our favorite foods to add to our clear skin food regimen. Avocado is known to make the skin gleam and glow due to being high in healthy fats. They are great to hydrate the skin, support with elasticity and giving the skin a vibrant complexion-all while tasting delicious.

Add a few or some of these foods to your New Year grocery list and watch how your skin transforms. As we said before Beauty starts from within.
